What "acrylic" actually means here

ArachNest enclosures use cast acrylic (polymethyl methacrylate), a rigid, transparent plastic that's manufactured in sheet form and then cut and bonded into panels — distinct from thinner, more flexible extruded acrylics sometimes used in cheaper products.

Not all "acrylic" is equal.
